Lesley Rigney focuses her practice in real estate, land use, community association, corporate, and business law. Lesley, a native of Virginia, joined Flora Pettit with over a decade of legal experience in Virginia in both litigation and transactional roles. The majority of her practice has been in real estate, land use, community association, and contract law, but she also has experience in governmental, corporate and employment law, bankruptcy, domestic relations and criminal law. Most recently, Lesley served as Director of Legal & Policy Services at the Virginia School Boards Association headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia where she provided legal services to school boards across the Commonwealth including policy development, resource creation, training, and governance support. Prior to moving to Charlottesville, Lesley spent several years practicing law in Northern Virginia and teaching Legal Transactions and Contract law as an adjunct professor at Northern Virginia Community College.

Lesley is actively involved in several industry organizations, contributing through both volunteer work and leadership roles. She is a member of the Central Virginia Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, where she has served on its Board, including a term as President. She is also a member of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association, where she currently serves on the Continuing Legal Education Committee.

A graduate of Auburn University, Lesley attended law school at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she participated in the Criminal Law Clinic and served as a research assistant and an instructor for the Summer Language and Law Institute.

Outside of her legal work, Lesley enjoys reading and fitness related activities, she is a CrossFit coach and certified yoga teacher. You might also spot her in the skies above with her husband, Tim, who is a licensed pilot. They have been proud to call Charlottesville their home since 2016.
