Liz Southall focuses her practice on family law and general civil litigation. In her family law practice, Liz represents clients in divorce proceedings, child custody and visitation disputes, child support and spousal support matters, property division, protective orders, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and separation agreements. Her civil litigation practice includes handling real property disputes, contract matters, and a broad range of other civil claims.
Liz also brings substantial experience in local government law, intentional torts, and negligence matters. She has litigated cases involving trucking and motor vehicle accidents, business torts, breach of contract, premises liability, and municipal liability.
A native of Amelia County, Liz received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her law degree from University of Richmond School of Law, where she was a teaching assistant, served on the Editorial Board of the University of Richmond Law Review, and graduated cum laude. Following law school, Liz clerked for judges of the Richmond Circuit Court in the 13th Judicial Circuit of Virginia before returning to Charlottesville to practice law.
Liz spends her spare time trying to tire out her two Labrador Retrievers. She enjoys reading, sort of likes running, and really, really likes mowing her lawn.
