Jennifer Shirkey to speak at 67th Annual Virginia Conference on Federal Taxation

Jennifer Shirkey has been selected to speak at this national level conference for tax practitioners, both attorneys and CPAs. She will discuss the most common ACA implementation questions they see employers struggling with. Her presentation will cover the key compliance issues that even lawyers who aren't ERISA and tax practitioners need to be aware of in the next few years, both in advising business clients and in managing their own firms.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Employer mandate "play or pay" penalty tax transition rules for 2015

  • Common strategies and tools companies are using to manage play or pay

  • New notices and reporting requirements

  • Documenting compliance

  • Pending nondiscrimination rules

  • Wellness incentive limits, including smoker surcharges

The 67th Annual Virginia Conference on Federal Taxation is sponsored by the University of Virginia Tax Foundation in cooperation with the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accounts, Virginia Bar Association, Virginia State Bar, and the University of Virginia's School of Law and McIntire School of Commerce
