Nancy Schlichting to Serve as Chair of Virginia State Bar Bankruptcy Law Section Board of Governors

Nancy Schlichting was elected to the Board of Governors for the Bankruptcy Law Section of the Virginia State Bar in 2023, and will serve as its Chair beginning in June of 2025. The Bankruptcy Law Section of over 800 attorneys, enhances the communication and exchange of ideas and information involving bankruptcy issues among Virginia attorneys. Its objectives include fostering unity among members of the section by providing a forum for sharing information and experiences and promoting public understanding of bankruptcy law.

Ms. Schlichting’s practice focuses on corporate disputes including shareholder conflicts, business dissolutions, and commercial litigation. She also represents lenders in collection cases, foreclosures, lender liability and bankruptcy proceedings.  Additionally, she represents individuals and corporations in real estate-related litigation.

With her extensive experience in creditor rights and fiduciary litigation, Ms. Schlichting chairs Flora Pettit’s Litigation Practice and Banking Practice Groups.  She has been selected in Virginia Business magazine’s Legal Elite list in areas of Bankruptcy Creditors Rights and Alternative Dispute Resolutions.
