Flora Pettit Attorneys Honored
Flora Pettit is pleased to announce that six of its attorneys have been honored by selection for inclusion in the 2021 Virginia Super Lawyers list, a Thomson Reuters business. Four of Flora Pettit’s attorneys have been recognized for inclusion in the “Virginia Super Lawyers” list and two of its attorneys have been named to the “Virginia Rising Stars” list. Super Lawyers annually selects lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement through a rigorous process that includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. To be selected as a Rising Star, lawyers must either be 40 years old or younger, or have been in practice for 10 years or fewer.

Flora Pettit congratulates Richard Howard-Smith on his election to the governing Council of the Virginia State Bar (VSB) for the 16th Judicial Circuit for a three-year term. The 16th Judicial Circuit encompasses the City of Charlottesville and the Counties of Madison, Greene, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Goochland, Louisa, Orange and Culpeper.

Flora Pettit is Pleased to Announce That Thomas B. Gladin Has Joined the Law Firm in Harrisonburg Office
Thomas Gladin focuses his practice on commercial real estate, secured financing, title matters, Section 1031 exchanges, and business matters. Thomas formerly served as a Circuit Court Law Clerk to the Honorable Edward A. Robbins, Jr. of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit of Virginia and interned at the Court of Appeals of Virginia. Thomas’ judicial clerkship experience provides him with a unique and practical perspective on his client’s legal issues. Following his judicial clerkship Thomas practiced with a mid-sized Virginia law firm in the Tidewater area of Virginia, focusing on real estate transactions and related matters. Thomas earned his undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, and his law degree from the Regent University School of Law.
