Mike Derdeyn will present on the basics of employment contracts, including offer letters, non-disclosure provisions, restrictive covenants, and other contract terms to the Winchester Area Society of Human Resource Management (WASHRM) at their September meeting at Lord Fairfax Community College.
Mike Derdeyn will make a presentation to the Charlottesville chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) at their monthly meeting on January 10, 2017. Mike will highlight areas of employment law that could see dramatic changes in 2017 either from anticipated legislative or executive branch action or due to pending court cases.
Mike Derdeyn recently presented a continuing legal education seminar through Virginia CLE. The seminar addressed claims of fraud in connection with residential real estate transactions, including specific rules relating to damages and statutory protections for real estate brokers and agents.
Mike Derdeyn will speak at the Virginia CLE/Virginia State Bar co-sponsored 20th Annual Advanced Real Estate Seminar. Mike will discuss the rights and obligations of landowners with respect to surface water and groundwater in Virginia, both at common law and according to statute.
On October 13 Mike Derdeyn will be discussing wage and hour areas of increased scrutiny and concern for employers to the Charlottesville Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
